TV Studio Workshop

Yesterday I have went into TV Studio, so that to learn more about the TV studio equipment and the roles for the show, that my group and I going to produce.  I have learnt many new information about the roles and the equipment. Firstly, I have learnt the role of director. Director tells floor manager, sound effect operator, sound mixer and camera operators what to do, so that the show can be good. The equipment that the director use is the speaker, because speak to crew members what to do, so that  crew members can work well. For example, the if the director wants close up shot from camera two, then the camera operator, who is responsible of the camera two, zooms in or out for close up shot.

Secondly, the vision mixer get the images and clip get ready, so that it can been shown on the screen and audience can know what the presenter is talking about. For example, vision mixer finds a clip for the show and choose on it, by following the script, so that the director can show it. The equipment they use vision mixing, and they only edit the vision, not the sound.

Moreover, the teleprompter is a screen inside the camera, so that the Presenter/talent read the script from it fluently and not trying to remember the top of their head. For example, if a presenter opening the show, the presenter reads off the opening paragraph by teleprompter.

Furthermore, camera operator records the show by using the camera. Camera operator changes the angles, by what the director wants. Camera operators also can change the levels of sound, for example, if a camera operator finds director's voice loud, then he can put the volume down.

Additionally, Floor manager tells the director what the camera operator told, for example if there's a problem or a question, the camera operator tells to floor manager, so that floor manager can say it to director through the microphone. The director can give information to the floor manager, to tell what presenter or talent should do as well.

Moreover, sound mixer have the control of the levels of the sound. For example, if a presenter is going to speak, the sound mixer puts the volume up. However sound mixer can't choose what sounds to put on, because sound effects operator does. For example, if the director wants applause, then the sound effects operator clicks on applause and sound mixer puts the volume up of the sound effect.
